A typical farm setup is simple: the winch is bolted onto a welded channel-steel mounting plate with pre-drilled fixing holes (supplied as standard), anchored to a trailer, a sturdy tree, or a steel anchor post. The wire rope is run out across the ground, hooked onto the log or hay bale — often using a simple drag chain or sling — and the operator walks the load in with the hand switch, keeping a safe distance at all times.
